In order to find another possibility, people have embarked on the routes of migration to seek a place where they are no longer just passing by. However, within the turbulence of drift, freedom is not always guaranteed.
According to statistics from the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), there are about 80 million people in the world who have been forcibly displaced. Some have been internally displaced, and some have fled the border to seek asylum in other countries. Although these real events may seem far away, they are actually very close to everyone in daily life. Perhaps because the refugee issues seem to be relatively far from Taiwan, not everyone is familiar with the ongoing forced migration/refugee issues and the factors that lead to forced migration/refugees.
In order to raise the awareness of Refugee Issues, in 2020, the first exhibition of Refugee Week, 《世界難民日展覽:疫起呼吸——穿透邊界的聲音》(Together —— Voices Across Borders), was held in Taipei. From here, we have facilitated several lectures and workshops on diverse cases and topics ——《難民路徑》(Refugee Path).
We decide to organise Refugee Week Taiwan every year. Make here become a safe platform to discuss the refugee issues in Taiwan.
We all are looking for the Path to make a Change for Refugees.
